Limited Capacity full

Students often see school as preparation for “real life,” but what if we changed their view? What if school became real life instead? Join us as we share what it looks like to break down barriers between subject areas and flatten the walls of our school to help our students contribute to their community and the world. We will examine our students’ partnerships with individuals outside of school through projects, Google Hangouts, and interviews, cross-curricular learning experiences rooted in project-based learning, and a citizenship project to share their learning and raise money to benefit a cause. Attendees will have the opportunity to examine their own curriculum, students, and communities in order to begin developing ideas that will show their students that their learning matters and can make a difference to others.
