I have been in education for 17 years. My first three years, I taught ESL in Fort, Lupton, Colorado and then 7th/8th grade English for the next three years. I then became an Instructional Coach in Fort Lupton, Colorado. While in this position I helped start AVID and align our curriculum K-12. I then moved to Kansas where I taught 9-12 English, College Composition, Communication, and Reading for six years. While in Inman, I became an APPLE Distinguished Educator and a KTOY nominee. I then taught 9-10 English at McPherson HS for three years. I am now the Assistant Principal, CTE coordinator, and Instructional Coach. I have been blessed to be involved in many new projects such as being an Education Fellow, which was a team of educators that trained districts around the state of Kansas on the 5 Outcomes. At McPherson High school, we are starting our redesign process.
